Broadway Baby!

I love New York City. One of my favorite things about NYC is going to the plays. I love them. I haven't seen one that I didn't love. But my absolute favorite is Wicked! Wicked's broadway tour had been traveling across the country and has finally made it's way to the Big D. This is my 5th time seeing it and it never gets old. Below are a few more pictures from the fun night! Thanks mom!

It's Official

It is official. I will be tackling The Hottest Half with Emily Barry on August 15th! This will be my 1st half marathon and I am pumped! The nice thing about your first race is there is no pressure of beating a certain time or getting a so called PR(personal record). I just have to FINISH!! and be able to blog about it, right? :)

Summer Reading

Well I have to say that I have throughly enjoyed being out of school. No deadlines, pressures of writing a paper or studying for another test. The past few weeks all I have done is read! I don't think I have read a book for pleasure since last summer. It has been so fun to get back to reading; what I choose to read versus what I am told to read! A few weeks ago Michelle Dameron posted a great blog about summer reading and I thought it was a great idea! I hope you don't mind Michelle, but I wanted to post my summer reading list as well. Not only am I posting this for my reading "goals" this summer, but I need some feedback for some more books to read. Is there a book lately that you read and just could not put down? Did you get lost in the last book you read? Have you read a book that changed or challenged your life? If so I WANT TO HEAR ABOUT IT!! (please)

Here is what I have on my list so far!
Take 3 By: Karen Kingsbury (I actually finished this one up at the beginning of the week. It was great, if you haven't started this new series I would highly recommend it)
Take 4 By: Karen Kingsbury
I am the Central Park Jogger By: Trisha Meili (This is an interesing story of hope of a woman attacked while going for a run at night and her journey toward recovery from a horrific attack and rape. I started this last night and I couldn't put it down. Good read to see how invidiuals around her encouraged her as well as to see the power of helping and caring indivuals throughout the healing process.)
Fight Like a Girl: The Power of Being a Woman By: Lisa Bevere (I could not get into this book and was not really impressed)
Strengths Finder By: Tom Rath (thank you Laura for this book!)
3 Cups of Tea By: Dave Mortenson & David Oliver Relin
Sarah's Key By: Tatiana De Rosnay
So Long Insecurity By: Beth Moore
Crazy Love By: Francis Chan (wow, I have about 70 pages left in this book, but again this is a must read for every Christian. It will convict, transform, and challenge you about your walk with God and your life)

I look forward to seeing what book recommendations that you have for me!
