What do you get with 200 pounds of ice, hot chocolate, and the Lewis's and the Vaughn's?

ICE at the Gaylord Texan!!!!

You can't ask for much more at Christmas time than seeing real live reindeer, a life size gingerbread house, humongous Christmas trees, millions of lights, Christmas cheer, and Christmas music playing in the background. It really is the most wonderful time of the year! Here are a few pictures from the night.

It was 9 degrees in there! It was freezing cold!

Lindsey flying down the ICE slide!

There was even a manger scene of ICE.

The cute little church. My mom and rex actually got married in this church!

Fun w/ the Donkies

Well...We had a fun Thankgiving. It was good times, good food, good sleep! ha. But Saturday we took family pictures are we had some furry little friends that wanted in on the action! They were the cutest, sweetest things ever. I could have taken one home with me.

This one cracks me up because the donkey kept trying to eat Bryan's shirt. He wanted Brysn to give him some attention!

Here is one of the family pictures that we took.

Must have been really Nice :)

Christmas has come early for Lindsey. Yes, I am so excited. It's kind of different doing Christmas when your married. You know what you want and that's usually what you get. So not much surprise involved. But Bryan surprised me with a Christmas slide show that he made and then he gave me my Christmas present early. :) (So I could get some use out of them) I didn't expect an early present so that was a surprise.. umm I like surprises in case you wondered.

New Shoes - they keep my feet so warm!

And don't judge me by this new surprise!
Yes, it's a Nintendo DS...Don't ask! :)

Sooo... Merry Christmas!

Welcome to Mav Country

This weekend Bryan and I went to Arlington to visit Jessica and Seth. We decided to leave a little earlier so we could go check out where I am going to be going to school in the Spring. I got accepted a few weeks ago and I am soo excited about going back. I am ready to get this degree finished and hitting the real world! :) Here are a few pictures from the University of Texas Arlington.

Breakfast with the Vaughn's

I can't even begin to describe how much Bryan and I LOVE Saturday mornings. There is nothing like it. You can stay up late Friday night, because you know that Saturday morning brings sleeping in and being lazy. I love Saturday mornings because I usually wake up before Bryan and can spend some time reading. Saturday mornings have only gotten better because I changed out our comforter. I pulled back out the down comforter. We love it! We just can't keep it on the bed all year around because it gets way too hot. Anyways, since we have been married we have had an on going tradition of eating breakfast on Sundays for dinner. It's kind of something that we look forward to at the end of a fun weekend before starting a new week. But, today we changed things up a bit and had breakfast for breakfast! Who would have thought. Thought I would share a few pictures. It was the first time I have got to use my Mickey Mouse pancake cutter!

Nothing Profound...

So I have had several people say... "Umm I think that it is time for a new blog." And let me tell you that I think they are so right. I guess I kind of thought, well nothing significant has really happened with Bryan and I lately. We don't have kids to show their growth progress on here or something like that. We are just 2 people who work a lot and I thought that might be kind of boring to other people. Maybe I was wrong though. :) So anyways all that to say..I don't have anything profound to say, we haven't been on a cool trip and no I'm not pregnant. It was just time to write something.

So last weekend I had my first driving lesson with Bryan. He was a pretty good teacher. I know you are wondering why I needed a driving lesson, well, I have an automatic car and Bryan has a manual car. I actually sort of learned how to drive a manual car during drivers ed a long time ago! I never was really any good, and didn't care to shift gears while driving. I mean I would much rather talk on the phone or sing at the top of my lungs with the radio :) So all this to say, I have to learn how to drive his car. He has been having to use my SUV pretty often for his job. That leaves me at home with no transportation. Trapped in the house. For those of you who know what my job is like now or actually for those of you who don't... I work from home and sit in our office all day starring at a computer. By nature I am a doer, planner, organizer, socializer ect. So the majority of the time I go stir crazy being in our house all day without any communication from the outside world. I mean there are some days I don't talk to anyone until Bryan gets home after 6. Needless to say I talk his ear off all night! :) So anyways. So I had a driving lesson to learn to drive his car. Things went well. Made about 30 circles around a high school parking lot. He talked me into driving from the school to our apartment. It is about 10 minutes. I decided I could do it. I am just soo nervous driving the car and afraid I am going to blow up the engine when I do something wrong. Anyways I drove all the way home without stalling or getting honked at. Yes, I had to change my pants when I got home, but we made it safe.

Rexanna's Foundation Huddle up for the Cure

This past Saturday we attended the 2nd annual Huddle up for the Cure. This foundation was established after Rexanna Hawkins lost her fight with lung cancer on June 21, 2006. Rexanna was not a smoker and fought her battle head on as well as made such an impact on the doctors and staff at MD Anderson. This mission of the foundation is to financially support efforts dedicated to eliminating lung cancer, improving public awareness, and they are committed to supporting lung cancer research at the University of Texas MD Anderson with the specific direction as designated by the Board of Directors. We had such a great turn out of the event and it is only going to get bigger and better with the years to come. Please check out the web site. http://rexannasfoundation.org/ And if you have any questions or would like to help in any way please let me know! Here are a few pictures from the event. The first one is Bryan and I at the event and the second one is one of my best friends from high school and her husband, Bryan and Michelle. They just recently got married and Michelle and I have not seen each other in probably 5 years!

Trick or Treat

Where do we begin to tell you about our night chaperoning the 8th grade Halloween party of the year? 1st this party has been in the works for a year. 2nd there were over 90 8th graders invited to the party and 3rd we were asked to chaperon the party. The entire week leading up to the party was spent covering every inch of the house and walls in spider webs. There were hairy rats on the tables, life size skeletons, scary bats hanging from the ceiling, black lights, strobe lights, orange lights, and creepy monsters throughout the house. Oh yea, there was also fog machines and dry ice. So needless to say you can't come to a Halloween party of this caliber without a costume.

What is a Halloween party with out Jack and Jackie Sparrow?

My Wonderful Husband

Just a few things that makes Bryan so special to me.

1. He kisses me every morning before he leaves for work. Even when I am out cold, mouth open!
2. He rememebers our 10 month anniversary. I didn't even realize that we had been married 10 years. Bryan remembered and bought me flowers. Sweet.
3. He leaves me encouraging notes on the mirror so when I come back from working out I am so encouraged!
4. He takes out the trash all the time. (I can't stand taking out the trash)
5. He always wants to cuddle. Sweet
6. He is the hardest worker I know. He is working so hard and long hours for his new job. I recieved a phone call yesterday from his boss who decided to call me and just brag on Bryan. Yesterday was his first senior class meeting and his boss was blown away by Bryan's performance and interaction with the kids. I was so proud! (started crying! haha)
7. He does half of the chores. If anyone knows me they know I am a clean freak and have to do chores every week or I can't function. Bryan definitly carries his load.
8. He watches movies of my choice ALL the time even if I don't like to watch all the guy movies that he wants to see.
9. He is great at washing dishes.
10. He moved to Texas.....left his home town and everything he had ever known.
11. He loves Jesus and the bible. He inspires me to be a more Godly woman, to search for God more and challenges me to follows Jesus daily.
12. He's HOTT
13. He never complains about anything I cook. He is always grateful! Makes it easy on me! :)
14. He is a loyal friend. Not only to me, but his guy friends.
15. Are you getting tired of me bragging yet? I'm not! :) hehe. I could go on and on.
16. He has style!
17. He is talented.
18. He is romantic.
19. He is thoughtful.
20. He cracks me up all the time. I wish I was half as funny as him!

I am lucky to have found and caught someone like this! It was hard :) haha. Took a little while to catch him, but I am glad I did. My life would not be the same without him by my side.

It Begins...The Life of Blogging

Well after a long, long night of working on this blog I think I have it fixed how I like. Yes, I spent all night, but now it is done. Bryan was working late at a school tonight and so this filled my time. Well things in Texas are going well. Bryan is adjusting to his job. He is working harder and longer hours than he has ever worked. I am still working for Burns and Wilcox from home. That has it's up and downs. I am so thankful to have a job while in this transition period, but day after day being cooped up in the house makes me stir crazy. I am not kidding either. I am working through it though. I am waiting to hear from University of Texas Arlington for acceptance into the Masters of Social Work program. Bryan and I are looking forward to this weekend. Bryan's friend Joseph is coming to visit. Joseph lives in Ohio and is in his last year of law school. My grandparents and cousin from Missouri are also going to be in Texas visiting at my dads. There will be a lot going on this weekend, but looking forward all of it.

We have a BLOG!

Well Ladies and Gentleman....We are in buisness. Many or should I say 1 person has told me several times that this would be a great way to keep in touch with people and an easy way for people to keep in touch with us as well, now that we are in Texas. Well, we are going to give it a try!
