S&S

Nope you didn't read it wrong. It's not supposed to be R&R (i wish it was), but it is S&S. Are you wondering what that is???

SATURDAY & SICK....Yep it's pretty lousy. Woke up with a terrible headache, stuffy head, but runny nose (don't ask me how you can have both), achy body, and sore throat. Just the way I wanted to spend my Saturday. Oh well.

So needless to say, I am just taking it easy. I stayed in bed today till around 12pm just watching movies.(And I went to bed at 8:45 last night!) I finally ventured into the rest of the house grabbed some Vitamin C and a shower and things have started looking up. We will see how the rest of the day goes.

I think I am just sick of Bryan not being home! :)

Photo Tag

Here are the rules:
1. Choose the 4th folder where you store your pictures on the computer
2. Select the 4th picture in the folder
3. Explain the picture
4. Tag 4 people to do the same
5. No cheating (cropping, editing, etc)

Well I got tagged.

Yes I was a little bit behind on getting this blog done. But after displaying my 4th picture from my 4th folder you probably wished I would have just no played along! ha

This picture is actually the front desk in the office where Bryan works. This was taken when we flew out here for Bryan's interview. I was trying to take several different pictures in the office to share with him family when we got back from the interview, but apparently this one wasn't one of the best!

I now Tag:
1. Meredith D.
2. Eric (maybe this will get you to do a new blog)
3. Tamie S. (same goes for you!)
4. Audrey M.

Happy New Year

We brought in the New Year in NC at Eric and Anne Michelle's house. It was a night full of smores over the fire pit, a little game called mafia, and the count down to the new year.

1st Anniversary!

I can't believe that Bryan and I have been married for 1 whole year. I guess I can't believe it, because we have had so many changes within our first year of marriage. Moving in together, job changes, graduate school, more job changes and moving to Texas. It has definitely been an eventful year for the 2 of us. One of growth, new experiences, and adventure. December 29th, 2007 I married the man of my dreams. I couldn't imagine a day without him. Thank you Bryan for loving me unconditionally and I look forward to many, many more anniversaries together.

For our anniversary we went to Wilmington. We went to the Mayfare center and saw a movie and walked around the shops while drinking my favorite, pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks! Then we checked into our bed and breakfast. We stayed at the Front Street Inn in downtown, historic Wilmington. We had a great, relaxing time. Bryan was feeling a lot better and probably the first day that he had felt more like himself.

The Front Street Inn

We had a Fabulous meal at Circa 1922. If you are ever in Wilmington you have got to eat there.

Christmas in Holden Beach

The day after Christmas we headed to the beach. Oh how I have missed seeing the beach. I loved staying with my grandparents and being able to spend time at the Ocean. I was really excited. The only stinky thing was Bryan. ha. Poor thing was sick from the night we got to NC through Christmas and well into the weekend. It was terrible. So he pretty much slept and stayed in the bed the entire time we were there and didn't even get to see the ocean. I was so sad for him. I just kept hoping that things would start looking up for our anniversary.

Christmas in Wilson

We flew out the Monday before Christmas to be with Bryan's family for Christmas. It was my first Christmas to spend with the Vaughns, and I was very excited. Bryan and I were both ready to be back in North Carolina to visit friends and family.

I learned quickly that not all families do the same thing for Christmas. At my families everyone wakes up early Christmas morning. We all sit around in the living room and after I pass out all of the Christmas presents everyone just digs into their presents. Let me just tell you, I LOVE opening presents. I would rather have wrapping paper any day than a bag! haha.. It's just so fun to rip it open. I think we are usually done by about 9:00am! So anyways. We woke up and we were able to open 1 present from Bryan's parents and look in our stockings. We couldn't open anymore, because Lee and Kasey were not there. So then around lunch we all went to Mema and Papa's house. There are a ton of presents under the tree. Let me share.

So as you can see there are a lot of presents under the tree, still a ton of presents under the tree at Bryan's parents house and it is about 1pm by now. We have opened 1 present. I find out that we are eating and waiting for Lee & Kasey and Bethany and Nick to arrive before we can begin the festivities. I was going crazy! I felt like a stinkin 2 year old all over again. I was soo anxious and excited to get my hands one just 1 stinkin present. Well, the time finally came when everyone was at the house, all the food was eaten and put away and we settled in the living room to open gifts. After all the gifts were passed out we started with the oldest person. 1 person, 1 gift at a time. It was after 6 oclock by now and I was losing it. Good thing I was able to rip a little here and there off my presents so when the time came I was ready to go! It was quite funny and a new experience for me. I think when we have kids, if they are anything like me, I don't know if they will be able to wait that long!

It was really a lot of fun though. Here is a picture of the whole gang and a few others. (There might not be quite as many, because my husband informed me that I put to many pictures up in my last blog!)

Here is a great picture of Mema and Papa. I wish yall could have been there to see Mema get her new boots and Papa helping her put them on. We laughed so hard! So fun.

Christmas in Houston

Well, I can't believe I have gotten this far behind on blogs. It is so crazy. I first thought, oh I will just start blogging from now, but that would mean leaving a whole month of info/pictures off the blog. The more I thought about it I decided I didn't want to do that. I just couldn't disappoint my faithful followers...you know who you are :)... and besides that, we has soo many fun things that happened with us in Decemeber that I wanted to share. So bear with me as I try to rewind time and bring you guys up to date with what has been going on with the Vaughn's.

Before we left for North Carolina for the Holidays we went to Houston to spend Christmas with my mom and Rex. Amber and all the Halfmann's were there. We had such a fun time. We baked our annual Christmas cutout cookies, shopped, opened presents, celebrated with Kevin for his 2nd State Championship, were entertained with all of the kids, and threw a birthday party for Kaleb. Here are a few pictures from the weekend!

Make Christmas Cookies! Yummy!

This will be our 1st Christmas. Yay!
