Must have been really Nice :)

Christmas has come early for Lindsey. Yes, I am so excited. It's kind of different doing Christmas when your married. You know what you want and that's usually what you get. So not much surprise involved. But Bryan surprised me with a Christmas slide show that he made and then he gave me my Christmas present early. :) (So I could get some use out of them) I didn't expect an early present so that was a surprise.. umm I like surprises in case you wondered.

New Shoes - they keep my feet so warm!

And don't judge me by this new surprise!
Yes, it's a Nintendo DS...Don't ask! :)

Sooo... Merry Christmas!

Welcome to Mav Country

This weekend Bryan and I went to Arlington to visit Jessica and Seth. We decided to leave a little earlier so we could go check out where I am going to be going to school in the Spring. I got accepted a few weeks ago and I am soo excited about going back. I am ready to get this degree finished and hitting the real world! :) Here are a few pictures from the University of Texas Arlington.

Breakfast with the Vaughn's

I can't even begin to describe how much Bryan and I LOVE Saturday mornings. There is nothing like it. You can stay up late Friday night, because you know that Saturday morning brings sleeping in and being lazy. I love Saturday mornings because I usually wake up before Bryan and can spend some time reading. Saturday mornings have only gotten better because I changed out our comforter. I pulled back out the down comforter. We love it! We just can't keep it on the bed all year around because it gets way too hot. Anyways, since we have been married we have had an on going tradition of eating breakfast on Sundays for dinner. It's kind of something that we look forward to at the end of a fun weekend before starting a new week. But, today we changed things up a bit and had breakfast for breakfast! Who would have thought. Thought I would share a few pictures. It was the first time I have got to use my Mickey Mouse pancake cutter!

Nothing Profound...

So I have had several people say... "Umm I think that it is time for a new blog." And let me tell you that I think they are so right. I guess I kind of thought, well nothing significant has really happened with Bryan and I lately. We don't have kids to show their growth progress on here or something like that. We are just 2 people who work a lot and I thought that might be kind of boring to other people. Maybe I was wrong though. :) So anyways all that to say..I don't have anything profound to say, we haven't been on a cool trip and no I'm not pregnant. It was just time to write something.

So last weekend I had my first driving lesson with Bryan. He was a pretty good teacher. I know you are wondering why I needed a driving lesson, well, I have an automatic car and Bryan has a manual car. I actually sort of learned how to drive a manual car during drivers ed a long time ago! I never was really any good, and didn't care to shift gears while driving. I mean I would much rather talk on the phone or sing at the top of my lungs with the radio :) So all this to say, I have to learn how to drive his car. He has been having to use my SUV pretty often for his job. That leaves me at home with no transportation. Trapped in the house. For those of you who know what my job is like now or actually for those of you who don't... I work from home and sit in our office all day starring at a computer. By nature I am a doer, planner, organizer, socializer ect. So the majority of the time I go stir crazy being in our house all day without any communication from the outside world. I mean there are some days I don't talk to anyone until Bryan gets home after 6. Needless to say I talk his ear off all night! :) So anyways. So I had a driving lesson to learn to drive his car. Things went well. Made about 30 circles around a high school parking lot. He talked me into driving from the school to our apartment. It is about 10 minutes. I decided I could do it. I am just soo nervous driving the car and afraid I am going to blow up the engine when I do something wrong. Anyways I drove all the way home without stalling or getting honked at. Yes, I had to change my pants when I got home, but we made it safe.

Rexanna's Foundation Huddle up for the Cure

This past Saturday we attended the 2nd annual Huddle up for the Cure. This foundation was established after Rexanna Hawkins lost her fight with lung cancer on June 21, 2006. Rexanna was not a smoker and fought her battle head on as well as made such an impact on the doctors and staff at MD Anderson. This mission of the foundation is to financially support efforts dedicated to eliminating lung cancer, improving public awareness, and they are committed to supporting lung cancer research at the University of Texas MD Anderson with the specific direction as designated by the Board of Directors. We had such a great turn out of the event and it is only going to get bigger and better with the years to come. Please check out the web site. http://rexannasfoundation.org/ And if you have any questions or would like to help in any way please let me know! Here are a few pictures from the event. The first one is Bryan and I at the event and the second one is one of my best friends from high school and her husband, Bryan and Michelle. They just recently got married and Michelle and I have not seen each other in probably 5 years!

Trick or Treat

Where do we begin to tell you about our night chaperoning the 8th grade Halloween party of the year? 1st this party has been in the works for a year. 2nd there were over 90 8th graders invited to the party and 3rd we were asked to chaperon the party. The entire week leading up to the party was spent covering every inch of the house and walls in spider webs. There were hairy rats on the tables, life size skeletons, scary bats hanging from the ceiling, black lights, strobe lights, orange lights, and creepy monsters throughout the house. Oh yea, there was also fog machines and dry ice. So needless to say you can't come to a Halloween party of this caliber without a costume.

What is a Halloween party with out Jack and Jackie Sparrow?
